With more trees than you could shake a stick at, Scotland’s landscape represents one of Europe’s last remaining wildernesses. Whilst natural elements have sculpted the nations topography, heaving mountains towards louds and sinking lochs into valley hollows.
Day 1 A relaxing journey as we head north into Carlisle, for an overnight stay at the Crown and Mitre Hotel ***
Day 2 Continue travel through Scotland to arrive at Glamis Castle and Gardens, featuring gorgeous architecture and plenty of themed gardens including an Italian Garden, Walled Garden and Nature trail. Onwards to Pitlochry where a warm welcome awaits at the Fishers Hotel the perfect place to unwind, dine and look forward to some grand adventures to come.
Day 3 Kilted Mountain Safari Rangers in Land Rovers are ready to transport us on a 2 .5 hour Highland safari through forests, mountains and moors into the last wilderness of Europe where regular sightings of grouse, mountain hare, deer and golden eagle can be seen in their natural habitat. Theres time to enjoy a wee dram and shortbread at a mountain bothy before lunch at Kenmore Hotel, Scotlands oldest inn. Admiring nature at her wildest as the SwanTourer glides through Perthshire countryside toward Pitlochry, one of Scotlands most beautiful and vibrant towns.
Day 4 Majestic mountains and magnificent lochs, rivers and waterfalls all add to Scotlands rugged beauty and help imprint wonderful memories on a circular West Highland tour from Perthshire to Speyside.
Theres much to explore at the Highland Folk Museum, where collections reflect on the social and rural way of life in the Scottish Highlands from the 1700s to mid 1900s.
Day 5 Bird song is natures alarm clock, and it shall be yours too on this day at leisure in Pitlochry. Awaken whenever you like, taking advantage of our gorgeous hotels many amenities. Should your heart desire, travel to the self-proclaimed, Heart of Scotland, Pitlochry, with its beautiful scenery and plentiful clan heritage!
Day 6 Return journey to Preston and an overnight stay at the Leyland Hotel ****
Day 7 Onward travel and return home to the West Country and surrounding area.
